How To Install a "Patch" Guide

This guide will explain how to download and install a software "Patch/Update" for any ProServe II Series product. The sample screens in this guide are generic, please follow the step by step instructions for proper installation.

Before
you can download any file, you will need your "Customer ID" number and the "1st UserID License" number.
see the Help/How To Update from within the ProServe II Series product.
Record
your Login information and Current Version.

How To Download a "Patch" File:

1) From the ProServe II Series Support page select a Download link.
You will need your Login info to continue, see Help/How To Update from within ProServe II)
2) After logging on select
the proper Software Version that applies to you. 
3) View each "Update" and determine which ones you will need.
Install “patches” in Sequence, Upd2.0001, Upd2.0002, Upd2.0003 etc…
Example:
you are running Version 2.0001, download 2.0002 and 2.0003..
Install 2.0002, by following this Guide and then Install 2.0003.
4) Select the Download link to view more information on this update.
5) From the Download Page, review and print this page and follow any special instructions that may be associated with that download.
6) Select the Download link..

7) In most cases you should see a screen like this, it depends on the Browser your using.
To Download a file is to COPY a file from a Web Site to your computers hard drive.
Never try to RUN the download file from current location. Select SAVE to disk and select OK


8) It is important to Save this download file with the default "file name" and select a Folder that you can later easily find with Windows Explorer. To make this simple you can save download files to your "C:\EasyBee" folder or better still; create a NEW folder on your drive C and call it PSupdates. Save all downloads in this folder.
9) Select Save, your Browser should indicate that the download is in process.
10) After the download has completed, select the Back button on your browser and select another update to download if needed and start back at Step 4.
11) Exit your Browser and Log off the Internet.
 


How To Install a "Patch" File:
At this point this guide assumes you have already downloaded all "Patches or Updates" needed.

CAUTION. We recommend making a backup of your ProServe II folder before installing patches.
This would be folder ProServe located on your Drive C or where ever you installed it.

1) Make sure no other users are working in the program.
     NOTE: Installing this while others are working in the Main Program will damage the system. 
2) After downloading a “patch”, Locate that “patch” on your hard drive.
      It will look something like this with different update numbers.
     This is a Zip Magic (self extracting ZIP file).

3) Double Click that "patch" file.. and select NEXT

4) Enter the “Drive:\Path” of where the software is located.. Then select NEXT
 Note: Default is C:\PROSERVE, for ProServe II users. 

5) If you get this screen indicating that "the files "xxxxxx" already exists" select “Yes To All” to continue.
6) Select "Finished" to complete this extraction.
  Do NOT extract the next patch until you complete Steps 7-10.
7) StartUp EasyMenu
8) Select "Install Patch, ProServe II" option
    this program will first verify the proper "Patch" sequence and will indicate so.
9) IF proper
"Patch" was found, press "Install Now" to install this patch.
    If install indicates a problem,  See Help/Product Version and make sure your installing in sequence.
    (make sure not to Extract all releases before completing steps 7-10 for each patch.)

10)
Look for "Successful Installation".

Startup ProServe II and verify what version you are now running, Help/Product Version
