| This product is made up of two
separate programs and installations; each has it's own version number
and each has it's own updates. The first is installed with
ProServe II and is called WorkPDA
Interface Utility. It's version number can be found in the bottom right corner on the Main
Menu screen or on the System Info screen. The second is the PDA
application and is called WorkPDA. This application is distributed
and installed with the WorkPDA Utility Tools.
Which then installs the WorkPDA on your PDA device. It's version
number is located on the PDA application header. see samples below |

| The WorkPDA
Interface Utility program is always being
updated with new features and patches so you should bookmark this page for
reference. Unlike ProServe
II updates (in sequence); this can be updated
by downloading the latest update and extracting it into the proper
folder. (unless otherwise stated) Example: your running v1.00a, the latest update is v1.00f..
The update will install v1.00b, c, d, e and f. If
this is not the case you'll be given more instructions. |

| Update Instructions for WorkPDA

If you're not running
the latest WorkPDA v1.5; then skip to Section II.
-
Make sure you up-load all PDA's before
installing this update.
-
Delete all work orders and contacts off
all PDA devices.

Download the latest update by
clicking link below.
-
Exit ProServe II.
-
Locate and double click that
download.
-
Extract it into the proper
folder. (where ProServe II resides)
-
Startup the WorkPDA
Interface Utility It should
indicate an update found.
-
Follow instructions.
-
Verify that your now running
the latest version.
-
You'll need to setup all PDA users
again.

The WorkPDA PDA Application program is also updated with new

little more complicated than the one above as well. This one will require you to un-install the current
WorkPDA Utility Tools then download and re-install the
latest version. It's very important to follow the Un-Install and
Install instructions to the letter for a proper upgrade. |

Upgrade Instructions for WorkPDA

Verify that you're not
already running the latest version. see top
-
Download the latest WorkPDA
Interface Utility do not install yet
-
Download the latest
WorkPDA Utility Tools,
make sure it overwrites the old download.
-
Verify downloads on your hard drive.. WorkPDA.exe and
PDAv105b.exe
-
You'll receive a new
Installation Password via email. do not install yet
-
Upload all PDA devices
into ProServe II. (the next steps will delete all Sync
Files)
-
Un-Install the current
WorkPDA Utility Tools
click here and follow step by step

Install the New
WorkPDA Utility Tools
click here and follow step by step
-
Install the latest WorkPDA
Interface Utility v1.05b
(filename PDAv105b.exe)
-
Start the WorkPDA
Interface Utility (within
ProServe) it should
indicate update found.

After update verify version
(v1.05b) see top
-
Run Setup to activate
your PDA Usernames again.

Run the Download to PDA
and Synchronize twice.

Verify that the work orders
are loaded and you're running WorkPDA v1.5

You're basically registering and re-downloading the latest
WorkPDA Utility Tools, you'll receive a new
installation password with any extra instructions not listed above.
Please follow instructions to the letter to insure a proper upgrade. |

Upgrade Tips: |

Each WorkPDA
Interface Utility update download
file name is different. Ex PDAv100b, PDAv100d, PDAv101a
etc... With that said, Don't maintain older
download files on your computer. Just keep a copy of the latest one.

When upgrading the
WorkPDA Utility Tools, it's a great
time to rename a PDA device username if needed. (do that between
Un-Install and Install)

It's always a good idea to
refresh any instructions page to make sure you're seeing the latest
version. (they are changed quite often)

I can't express enough how
important it is to follow all instructions to the letter to insure a
proper upgrade. I know that you may understand how to un-install a
Windows Application. But you may not see that extra step that is
necessary for this particular upgrade if you don't read it.
