Utilizing the Route Selection Tool |
| |
| The "Route Selection"
tool can be very powerful if you know how to use it. In this article, I'll
try to explain how to utilize its power. This tool or button is located on
the Service Account Setup screen and the
Create/Edit Work Order screen. |
| |
| Image 1 |
Located between the MapCode and Tech Code fields. |
| |
| Its design is to display all other
scheduled jobs that match the Route, Service Code,
Schedule Code and MapCode. The screen shot below is displayed
after selecting the Route button. As you can see you can select the last
three match options to fit your needs. The Route is locked in as a Match
filter, but you can change that on the following screen. |
| |
| Image 2 |
 |
| |
| This screen defaults to All Options ON
the first time per ProServe II session. (it remembers the last selections
until you Exit ProServe II) |
| |
| After selecting the Done button,
the system will display the schedule screen. See below.. |
| |
| Image 3 |
 |
| |
| At this point let me explain the
difference between working this tool on the Service Account screen
VS the Create/Edit Work Order screen. If working the Create/Edit
Work Order screen, this information is coming from the Open Work Order
file. The screen shot above is that screen. |
| |
| As you can see, you can browse the
Service Date, set the time and change the Route. This design is to help
you find an open slot to schedule this work order. (during Create/Edit
work order) |
| |
| The screen shot below is working from
the Service Account screen. |

 |
| |
| It has more and different options, the
Schedule Type determines what's made available. Example the
Key Date is not made available here because the Schedule Type is most
likely "Monthly". The key date is a Weekly based schedule type. The design
is to manipulate the Period, Week/Day and Route to
find an open slot to pre-schedule this service account. Example:
You're setting up a new account for Monthly Pest Control, this tool will
display all other service accounts that's pre-scheduled for the same day
on that route. |

| Sch Status |
| |
| Image 5 |
 |
| |
| Have you ever wonderd what this is? |
| The Sch Status is a scheduling
tool. |
-
P = Pre-Scheduled, it means when a
work order gets created, it's set as pre-scheduled. It's pre-set to be
worked on the 2nd Tuesday but may require contact before work is done.
-
S = Scheduled, this is created for
2nd Tuesday and is set as Scheduled and does not require contact to do
the job.
-
U = Un-Scheduled, this is created
for 2nd Tuesday and requires contact to be scheduled.
|
| |
| Please take a look at Image 3
above and notice the last field called "S".. This is the Sch Status
of that work order. Through out the scheduling programs you'll find this
"S" field, you use it to help determine what's scheduled and what's not.
|
| |
| Example: |
| Lets say you need to create a new pest
control startup during the 2nd week of the month. |
-
1st, select option 1 Work Order from the
CSR Menu screen.
-
Search for that customer, if not found
then Add a new account. (you can do
that when creating a manual work order)
-
During Service Account setup, use this
Route Selection feature to locate a slot for the recurring service.
-
During Work Order creation, use this Route
Selection feature to schedule the initial startup.
