This release is FREE to current v3.06d users..
Update Features
New Discount Structure Loading Feature
The current version would load all customer Discount Structures including the matching Class Master structures during CFM from the master discount file. All discount structures for each customer is recorded in the master discount file. This made it necessary to use the “Copy Discount Utility” to copy current changes to any master class discount structures out to all matching Class customer. During order entry the master class file is used to load each customers discount structures.
With this new update, that concept has changed. Instead of keeping redundant copies of all master discount structures for every matching class customer within the master discount file. It will now only maintain a single copy of each master discount structures, and a single copy of each custom customer discount structures. So during order entry the custom discount structures for that customer plus the matching discount class master structure are loaded at that level. This will decrease the master discount file size down by ½ or more. This will also do away with the current “Copy Discount Utility” feature since class discounts are loaded at order entry level instead of CFM level. This will also eliminate custom customer discount overwrite issues.
When you access customers using CFM, you will only see custom discount structures for that customer. You will no longer see the “Discount Class Master” structures. The “Class” field is still used to assign this customer to a “Discount Class Master”. And that structure is loaded behind the custom discounts during order entry. All higher rates take priority.
In order to implement this new discount structure concept after installing this update, you should run a custom program to reset each “Discount Class Master” account. I’ve come up with a special name for your current “master discount accounts” (Templates) it’s called “Discount Class Master” ProFrame can now recognize this type of customer account based on if a zip code is entered or not. So to setup any new “Discount Class Master” you should avoid entering a zip code. When saving without a zip code, ProFrame will ask you if this is a Discount Class Master account. Then certain fields are used to set this account up as a “Discount Class Master”. This type is marked as Cancelled so no orders can be created. So it’s very important to run the ClsDisc.fxp to reset current master discounts.
To Run ClsDisc.Fxp While no other users are working in ProFrame. 1) Access each "Discount Class Master" using CFM 2) Remove the "***" from address field if it exist. 3) Select Save, System should prompt "Is this Discount Class Master?" .... answer Yes 4) Repeat 1-3 for each "Discount Class Master" account
5) Utility/Command Line 6) Type DO ClsDisc.fxp enter 7) Enter each “Discount Class Master” account and Reset. (only you know what customers are your Master Discount Accounts) 8) Repeat 5-7 for each "Discount Class Master"
What does ClsDisc.fxp do? It will do right the opposite of the Copy Discount Utility; it will Delete all matching discount records from matching Class customers. (Leaving any higher rates as is) When this is done for each master discount, only custom customer discounts are left for each customer. From that you’re good to go.
Note: The ClsDisc.fxp will make a backup copy of the master discount file first time in, for recovery purposes.
